It's all Good....

Slept in until 6:30am (that's sad) - got up and ready....ripped a huge callus on my right hand for the first time ever (thanks to Bob's snatch ladder last night- I wasn't backing down from the 16kg so I paid the price - OWE)......We did the workout from Bob's RKC book again - everyone did great.....Nice to have Anita, Andrea, Ursula and Monica back - we've missed you guys! We had 3 newbies at 10:30am in addition to 2 regulars - they all did well, but were sure glad when the hour was done.....lol.....the true test is if they come back! I ran errands the rest of the day. Nice to have some time to myself.....the kids came home - game on....homework, dinner, soccer taxi - the Tuesday drill......Bob just home - all is good.....

He Did It.....

Bob arrived back home last night - on cloud nine! He did it - passed his snatch test, 23 hours, successfully taught his victim, completed his Grad workout with ease - has his certification and picture for proof.....a great accomplishment! Bob did our house proud......way to go....now it's Dar's turn! We wish her the best of luck this coming weekend in Denmark - she leaves tomorrow and has nothing to worry about!!! The alarm went off at 5am this morning (I wanted to scream), but I promised myself I would run to work this a.m. - not sure what I was thinking, but sometimes we fitness people are cracked in the head.....I ran - in the rain to BBOM....not as bad as I thought - just pretended I was sleep running....taught 6am and ran back home (that was worse).....Max and I headed to Canton for my Great Aunt's funeral, visited my grandma in the nursing home (Alzheimer's blows - she had no idea who my brother and I were.....definitely knows my Mom and WOW is she nasty to her - tells her everyday she looks Bad and to get out - my poor Mother....at least she didn't try to choke or kick her today - SAD).....we headed out to lunch and then back to Medina....I got my butt kicked by Bob at 5:30pm (he was going to teach the 6:30pm class, but when 4 experienced KBers showed up he changed his mind so I jumped in).....Kim, Stacey, Amie and Arlene did great - thanks for your patience! We did swings, timed TGU's (he forgot about the clock I think), 3X10 squats, high pulls, bear crawls and then the blasted ladder of snatches 12 down to 1 on each side - he was trying to BREAK ME....NO CAN DO CRACKER JACK......they teased I could get a free shirt if I puked - I really wanted to die, but it felt great to be back in class again - I've been on my own since Doug left in January!!!! Bob said after he wasn't sure about the teaching thing - felt nervous and unsure.....it will all come in time.....I had 21 at 6:30pm (Bob was thrilled it was me on the front line as opposed to him)! We did a timed workout from Bob's RKC Manual - NASTTTTYYYY.....everyone did awesome! Look out in the morning - no secrets tonight....My 7:30pm canceled so I cleaned and headed home early.....My hands are on FIRE (damn callouses - damn snatches - damn Bob, who signed him up anyway - LOL).......

Update on Bob

Well.........he did it! He flew to St. Paul yesterday afternoon......checked in (they didn't lose his luggage) and made it to the reception......By the time he got back to his room last night he was a wreck! Nervous about the snatch test, his group, others......This morning he called and said he didn't sleep at all......on the bus over to the training center he said it was an out of body experience....before the snatch test he was numb - couldn't feel his legs or anything.....holy shit here we go! Bob completed 44 snatches on the left and 30 on his right - said he felt strong, form was solid....ripped one callous, but was so relieved he could have cared less.....Everyone from his group passed on the first attempt - one guy started dying at snatch 30 - they all pulled together and cheered him on to 74 - Amazing - he did it! Unfortunately, the weather is a balmy 44 degrees and raining so they had to train inside.....Bob actually thanked me because he said the workouts weren't that bad (only because we've been doing several of them in class - helps to have a little of the inside scoop)! He learned a ton and is really pumped - look out!!!! Thank you to all of you who have been so supportive.....he's definitely going to sleep well tonight!!!! I'll keep you posted on his RKC journey........

Thank You

Kicked off the day with a 6am morning run at Sherry's....had a business meeting at Maries' Cafe at 8am with the accountant....hit class at 9:15am and 10:30am - NICE job by all.....Lisa and Courtney - 2 newbies did well!!!! Colleen and Andrea made 2 classes this week - way to go.....so did Laura I believe....very proud of you......We did the same workout as the night before - you all can hang....My 12:30pm group arrived and we through in a cross-fit workout in addition to KB (outside of course).......clean up and time to get the kids! I realized an hour before my night shift I forgot to schedule a sitter - oops.....Thursday is not my regular night so I ended up taking the younger two (the oldest had soccer practice) with me (thank the lord for sitting there - option 2)....I promised them DQ if they were good (nothing works better than a little bribery....always helps when Mom has a sweet tooth).....Just talked to Bob - he's in St.Paul - checked in - pouring down rain and cold - man that blows.....said he met some Olympic Champion Lifter from Arizona that's totally BUFF - Freaked him out, but the dude has only been doing KB for a month - I said see YOU'RE FINE.....All day he's been saying WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO ME? YOU MADE ME DO THIS.....THIS IS NUTS.....I know how he feels - I felt the same way 7 months ago - Doug got me through and told me I would Thank Him Later........I've thanked him triple times over and told Bob he will also be doing the same.....I'm soooooo excited for him - just a plain Great Experience.....Thank you to all of you who have supported him through his training - so appreciated! I'll keep you posted.....Snatch test in the morning - he's got it.....just cross your fingers cuz I'll never hear the end of it....

Money's worth....

It was another beautiful day in Ohio! On top of it, I had no commitments for the ENTIRE day - WOW that's such a good feeling these days!!! Max and I met the Zufra clan for a morning stroll....Max and I got a lot done around the house and then I prepared for my 5:15pm training session and class at 6:30pm....we had 21 swinging iron in the parking lot - goodness it was AMAZING....We did swings, single leg MP, walking farmer, rack, waiter.....body weight squats every other line....KB pukers every two lines.....walking side swings and mixed in halos and good mornings......headed in for get ups, push ups and straight arm pull-ups....stretched and finished 5 min early....Greg exclaimed he got his money's worth - LOl! I headed to House of Hunan for dinner with my girlfriends - fun night - good to get out!!! Bobbie leaves tomorrow afternoon for RKC - he's said a million times what have you done to me......I just laugh! He's gonna be fine although the weather forecast doesn't look sooooo good....

A gorgeous day

Oh the weather is absolutely unbelievable - blue sky, light breeze....so good to see the sun - we Ohioans are deprived of it! I was running a little late (imagine that).....multitasking in the morning gets me in trouble....Max pooped on the way out the door - CRAP (literally)....Andrea came back and bought a card - she said see you didn't scare me away! Mr. Tom (Police dude) came for the first time - he did great! Shannon reappeared - nice to see you! So very proud of my Thursday afternoon group for adding in Tuesday - you are all getting very strong - very proud of you! We worked on several of the basics and added in walking waiter, double rack, forward and backward walking swings......burpees every other line around the parking lot - YIPPPPEEEEE......nice job......ending with figure eights, hot potato and 2 set of 1min swings - headed inside to stretch.....10:30 rolled in and Toni forgot her tennis shoes - they convinced me to stay inside (against my will I might add, but the customer is always right unless you're the waterboy or handyman - LOL) because of the pollen counts = allergies.......holy cow! From now on if you forget to wear proper shoes you will not only be humiliated outside in your flip flops, crocs or slip ons you will also do burpees.....We will train outside any chance we get so be prepared!!!! We worked kb and TRX - all did well.....I was able to squeeze a massage in with Mary - it was great.....I seriously almost jumped up and punched her when she was digging into my left calf and then again with my left forearm/elbow (tendinitis) and then again when she was pinching under my arm/shoulder - OUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.......She just kept laughing and saying wow you're so muscular......I felt amazing......

Never a Dull moment....

It was a crazy soccer weekend as Alex was in a tournament in Lodi Saturday and Sunday....Today was catch up on EVERYTHING - you know the drill....food, laundry, piles......Headed in for 5:30pm KB- Ryan said it was his birthday today - 17 (WOW I feel old).......We kicked it off in the parking lot with 17 swings....and kept the 17 theme throughout the hour....We worked a lot of the basics; swings, cleans, presses, high pulls, snatches.....we introduced the sots press and did some figure eights as well.....We had to do hot potato and golf swing per Ryan's request.....headed in for get ups and Ryan said he was done - we sang and out the door everyone went....We had 14 at 6:30pm - Becca brought her possy including her husband Sean - all did great! Sandy brought her sister Amanda so we had a total of 4 newbies - all did very well....We worked on 2 sets of 1 min swings, cleans, farmers walk, push ups, high pulls, squats.....headed in for double arm press laying down, straight arm pull over and bent arm pull over.....They say they'll be back - all rang the bell and no one puked....Amanda good luck with the faux painting tomorrow - OUCH.......Dave, Doug and Chad did very well.....Bonnie and Jean killed it as usual.....Amanda and Claire worked very hard as well.....The fur ladies rolled in - LOL.....they all did well, but I almost fell off of the ball when one exclaimed she was really good at the figure four stretch due to rough sex....it was late and I thought I was hearing things, but when the rest of them started laughing hysterically and practically all fell off the ball I knew I hadn't.....there never seems to be a dull moment when training - whether it's one on one, small groups such as this one or in class - never know what to expect - you all make me laugh!!!!! Bob leaves in 3 days - Mary "Rubbed" him down (LOL) tonight....he's ready!!!!

Got up this am and worked doubles with Ms. Lisa at the house - it was fun to have a buddy to workout with - blows being by yourself all of the time!!!! Got the boys off to school and then got Max ready for his photo shoot with Ms. Sherry at Heartstrings Studio....He definitely was not sure at first, but finally warmed up - can't wait to see the pics - he's such a BIG boy - time sure flies! We spent the rest of the day at home together (actually cleaning up after him - loves to get the pots and pans and Tupperware out - how about playing with any one of your 4,200 toys - not so much - toilet paper is just fine Mom).....Did the usual after school homework, etc....then headed into work....Sally and Nancy worked hard on the resist a balls (MaryLou was late so she socialized - Love her)......2 newbies in class and Sandy came back from Monday - said she was sore, but she's committed - bought a card!!!! I trucked 6 boys to brooklyn for soccer practice - they were all good because I bribed them with Donuts for after (I needed a coffee)!!!! They were not cheap dates and begged for Filet of Fish sandwiches and fries from McDonald's - only boys and I'm a sucker.....they all had a special order - thought the drive-thru lady was gonna knock me out - Oh Well.....I made all of my drop-offs and got home around 9pm.....We DVR'd the Biggest Loser - My Favorite Show! Long Day....

I know it's never good to wish away a day, but it was one of those as sadly we had to bury my Aunt who had a long, courageous battle with breast cancer. She lost the fight at age 57 last Tuesday and we said goodbye today. I ran several 1/2 and full marathons in her honor in the last few years....It's never easy, but we know she's in a better place.....I subbed for Molly and Heather this morning at 6am - so lovely to see two new faces from the past, Ashley and her Mom Sherry - yea....We had 9 at 5:30pm - walking waiter, farmers, combos....bear crawls (haven't done those in ages), TGU's, and lots of swings....We had 14 at 6:30pm and one newbie, Sandy, who did great but gave many evil eyes to her husband Mike (he's definitely in trouble - more so tomorrow and the next day).......We still did our combos, timed hot potato and sumo deadlifts, lots of swings, get ups and TGU's.....Diane is officially back from her "Fitness Vacation" - LOL.....Said the only thing she didn't do on leave was start smoking - she did cover all of the other basis.....too funny! The fur ladies were a little on the quiet side tonight as I was a little myself.....Thank you so much Dar for steaming the floors and equipment on Sunday - we love you! The count down has officially begun for Bob- he leaves in 10 days.....he did his snatch test on Saturday - great form, no problems, he's ready......yipeeeeeeeee

Ended the day with the Fur ladies (3 friends who all have mink coats who showed up at our open house with them on - no joke) - they truly make me laugh.....

It's All Good....

I attempted to get up at 6am to work out and just couldn't do it - dark and rainy.....plan B - maybe I'll ride a little in my last spin class (I never do but thought what the heck it's my last class)....no such luck as the class was full....It was a great way to end - full class - my favorite type of ride - endurance (I'll still sub, but will not be teaching full time)....Plan C - keep the workout clothes on until the work is done! Max and I had lunch (stalled a little longer), made dinner (still stalling) and then made dinner for the Zufra's (more stalling) and then turned Bravo on (staller) - the marathon trainer series - HOLY COW - I never watch T.V., but the drama - hilarious....Put Max in for a nap and outside I went (nothing else to do, but bills - that aint happening) as the sun appeared....ladder of swings 30, 20, 10 and back up....single leg MP 3x3, 2 sets renegade row, 3 sets of 15 push ups, Good Morning, Swings - the yellow school bus appeared - back to Mom duty...I headed in around 5pm for Sally, Nancy, Pat and MaryLou - so funny! They all did great!!! Got heck (she joking) from ML - she can't get Pete to do anything around the house because of "The Girls" - LOL!!!! Lighter class of 13 tonight....outside - walking farmers walk, walking cleans, walking swings, walking waiter, side steps with bell in upright position, etc. in addition to my workout above....Bob said you do that walking stuff again and I'm gonna kill you - REALLY??? Let me know how RKC goes in a few weeks - this is nothing!!!! We ended inside with straight and bent arm pull-overs....Joe (first timer) did great - Renee, Deidra and Dave made it back for the 2nd time!!!! The Rest Old Timers.....It's All Good

Training Outside - A Beautiful thing!

It's 60 and Ohio and April...you know what that means - OUTSIDE!!!! We partnered, did swings, ran around the building (many times - lots of stares - good for business - LOL), swings - do it again....lunges....MP.....Farmers and cleans around.....swings - very fun - nice effort by all in both classes.....Erin drug her husband Kevin - he was hoping to go to breakfast and somehow ended up in a parking lot off of the square attempting to breath and handle a hunk of iron - LOL....hopefully he'll be back - he did great! I headed to school to help out....home to walk the dogs (rather be walked by the puppy - he's going to rip my arm out of the socket - he's fine until he sees another dog and then it's all over....I need the dog whisperer). We did homework, dinner and packed up to head to Cleveland for soccer practice....4 kids in tow....this will be my new routine for spring every Tuesday night....the boys were good - praying they would be exhausted on the way home, but no such luck - even more wound up if that's possible.....everyone in bed by 9pm.....then there is the puppy looking at me ready to play - oh my.....NI nI....

Peter Pan....

The kids are back in school and back to the routine we go......got a lot done today and very happy to have made a meal for The Zufra's - from scratch too - even dessert!!!!! Headed into work with the windows down - sun shining....outside training - it doesn't get any better.....We had 11 victims (all in shoes - except for Arlene, but she just got back from Antigua so we did not feel bad for her)......We warmed up with snatches and then did a ladder of 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 snatches each side with 5 windmills each side in between....We made our way around the building many times with farmers, rack, walking swings, etc......The 2nd group rolled in with the look of fear....we did the same combinations, but also added a tortuous partner drill - one runs around the building while the other swings - 4x - ouch!!!! All did very well.....Outside was refreshing - gotta take it while we can it's Ohio - might snow again for all we know. Mr. Pete A.K.A. Mr. Handyman (otherwise known as Doug's Dad) popped in to check on his newly constructed "BALL" Rack (resist a balls that is) - looks Sweet!!!! Thank you so much - it's perfect! We're definitely keeping him busy - every time Pete comes in we have more tasks or something breaks - LOL - between us and Darlene I'm not sure how he's managing to get anything done!!!! Doug be sure to ask your Dad about the "Barely clothed Peter Pan Incident" on Saturday.....One of the funniest things I've ever witnessed - just will never be able to look at your Dad the same - LOL!!!! FYI - if you ever need to change your clothes do it in the kids room or the bathroom - the hallway may not be the best choice.....LOL

Day 4...

Shut the alarm off, but finally able to get vertical by 6:45am....I headed down to the dungeon (really it's a nice home gym, but lonely and boring) to tackle TRX.....the straps ate me - no joke - looks easy, but sooo hard....We had 10 at 9:15am - nice job with the rounds - way to go Mr. Jim 24kgs and 32kgs!!!! All regulars so straight to business....7 at 10:30am and again no newbies.....it may be listed a beginner class, but they too successfully completed their timed rounds - way to go! Lisa bumped up to the 16kg and Becca challenged herself with the 12kg (12 weeks post partum). Kelli re-appeared after meeting her deadline (6 straight days at the computer)....finished with Z health. Took Sam to Horton hears a.....He loved it - it was cute, but not my favorite...on the way home in the car he held a bag up to his mouth as he thought he was going to puke - not sure he'll be eating sour patch kids for awhile...he never got sick - burped and went to bed - that's a boy!!!! Headed back to work for 6:30pm and debuted the TRX - 7 in class.....they weren't (including me) to sure to start, but Shannon, Chad, Tim, Lori, Debbie, Kim and Andrea killed it....We covered the basics....warmed up....reviewed roughly 10 exercises and then repeated 45 sec on and 20 sec off - game on....Very impressed.....Finished with the Fur Ladies - LOL!!!!! Bob and Alex at the Cavs game.....Sam still up partying (second wind) minus candy and pop.....TRX repeat again at 6am....looking forward to Molly's return and it's only been a week!!!!!

Day 3 SB - Fantastic....

The sun is out - everyone slept in - all is good......even better nowhere to be and nothing to do the whole day - beautiful!!!! The kids helped me clean, organize and attempt to make sense of the unorganization....doesn't sound like much fun, but we played in between....even got a game of twister in - WOW that was tough! I headed in for Molly's group - very nice....Had a blast at 6:30pm - 2 newbies, 20 in total....Mr. Doug's birthday so many requests from him.....Very impressed with the 2 different combos.... 3 rounds 20 sec on, 10 sec off....snatch L, snatch R, body weight squats.....3 rounds 20 sec on, 10 sec off.....clean press L, clean press R, mtn climbers - Repeated both sequences 2x! Very proud of you all....Mr. Greg said he was sweating and that's rare.....I busted out the new sargent steamer and got to work on the mats....they look pretty good for my first attempt (a few streaks and chalk marks), but I think if we keep up with it our prayers of cleanliness have been answered - thank you Sue!!!! I've got work in the a.m. and hopefully the movies..... More FUN to Come....

Day 2 SB - Really Nice...

Well I couldn't get my butt out of bed to workout...the head still pounding a bit so I figured I would listen to the body and take another day off. Max did sleep through the night and is feeling much better thankfully....10 victims showed up for 9:15am - impressed with not only the dedication, but determination. Billy requested walking MP so we did....again in the rack....again farmers.....again lunges - nice variety.....partnered up for seated one arm press sit up, see saws, renegades with push ups and throw downs.....we did our sequence from last night as well. Jon did great as well as Trish, Nancy, Aimee and Karyn (my Thurs afternoon group kickin it up with another day)! Colleen and Andrea you're getting stronger every class.....10:30 rolled in with smiles -nice to see Sue, Debbie and Marcy back...Jill signed up for a card - yea!!! We did a lot of walking, sequencing....worked on cleans against the wall as well as our timed sumo dead lifts to the knee, knee and up and full - OUCH!!!! Headed to VCS for the much needed haircut.....they're remodeling - looking great so far! New chairs and tile floor - beautiful! The kids and I headed to AMAZONE in the late afternoon/evening.....My kids love it, but oh it's definitely not my favorite, but they begged - it's spring Break and I promised - what you do for your kids - Pure Love....I am glad we have such a fun facility so close to home, but I'm sort of a clean and neat freak, especially after owning Quiznos - I hate to say it's not - the staff was nice, but definitely on easy street....the kids had a ball - left happy and sweaty! We had a relaxing evening.....watched my favorite show - The Biggest Loser - very inspiring......
