Where are you????

Started off the day (on time for work again - things are looking good now that we're back on a routine with school, etc.) with 11 at 9:15am - many of you MIA (Mr. Mike wassssssuuuuuup no call, text, communication - on the list buddy)....I know it was gloomy and chilly and I'm mean (lol - everyone says the burpee punishment is too hard - Pavel would laugh and call you sissy's) it's Tuesday, but come on.....Nancy was our newbie - came to her first class yesterday and raved about Molly - came today for her first kb experience and bought a card - holla....she did great! Alex came back (her first class last Thursday) and said she just started walking normal yesterday - lol....we've all been there sista - and if you deny it you lyin! Haley, Renee, Aimee, Jeanine, Gary, Bonnie, Tressa, Laura, Toni - NICE JOB.....we completed the same wo as last night throwing in some good mornings and additional push ups, burpees, vertical leaps and side presses for good measure - all up to the challenge......Aimee said she tried some of the relaxation techniques we've been practicing in class the other night cuz she couldn't sleep and they WORKED - c I'm only half full of crap!!!!! That's great! Michele showed up for 10:30am - we had a really nice one-on-one session - excellent swings, TGU's.....She's also going to write a success piece about how kb has helped her with c5/back issues...used to have constant numbing and pain - even to dry her hair.....therapy helped a bit, but not as much as KB....proper posture, core strength, engaged glutes....she is happy - looks great - realizes the benefits of KB - thank you KB! Did some errands - bank, staples, etc.....kiddies home - GAME ON for the rest of the night.....Biggest Loser - favorite show and off to bed!!!! C u in class or else I'm coming for u.......

It's Monday....

It was a pj - attempt to get a little of this and that done....Wow does time fly.....The kids got home from school and said did you sleep all day? You look the same as when we left - as if.....lol! Got some cleaning done, some playing done with Max, some BBOM paperwork, email catch up, returning calls...you know the drill - there's always a never ending list gosh darn it! I was happy I touched base with 2 training groups early this am - heads up you have Vo2 max testing this week - be prepared - don't laugh cuz you all next! They just the Ginnie pigs for now! We had 10 in class and then 3 (6:30pm slot dragging a bit - where are you all - golf and football almost over - weather turning - time changing soon - let's go)! We started with JM, kicked in with 3 sets of 10 dbl swings, 10 right arm, 10 left arm. In between the 3 sets (thanks to Jay Armstrong) active recovery with 1 reverse TGU on each side - no bell.....holla......We moved on to 3 different partner drills focusing on breathing behind the shield as well as firing the lats and biceps......Moved to 3 sets of 3 "in line" MP's kneeling (this drill taught by Doug at RKC)......worked on tension, breathing, full lockout, wrist tracking over elbow, firing the lat, etc. all did well....Kim made me laugh as she's been out awhile (like many of you) and can't believe how hard it is getting back into it.....You all are coming back at a BAD time cuz I'm hormonal and just got refreshed - EVIL - LOL it's for your own good! We went back to our swing/TGU drill....then back to kneeling (both knees) MP's....worked on some vertical leaps, relaxation techniques of course, few burpees (safety really improving), push ups....back to the swing/TGU combo.....ahhhhhhh stretching.....Emily did a nice job her first time in class (thanks Faye)......I think I received a text from Stacey before she even pulled out of the parking lot....my _ _ _ is killing me - lol! The second class rolled in and Bob took over....I got to do everything mentioned above - tortuous for a BIG girl, but I made it! 2 out of the 4 fur ladies were present - J way to go on just quiting your job - you go girl!!!!

Busy busy busy

What a beautiful day! I, of course, had a hard time getting out of bed as I stayed up too late working - darn internet! Anyway, we had 14 in class - only a few brave comrades dared to return from Tuesday - lol. Most were extremely sore - those who have been coming quite awhile too.....amazing what tension, speed, breathing, power.....just a slight change can make such a huge impact! We (as last night) worked on rooting with the sumo/swing combo....also worked on our tension partner exercises.....fantastic squats - prying open the hips is not an easy task, but all were up for the challenge.....only a few burpees, but push-ups and planks - for sure....Wendy and Alex were brand new and did GREAT - thanks for hanging in there! Tina and Patti did great in Boomer Bell - lots of attention....we added in cleans and TGU's.....nice job ladies.....The 1pm mom's group completed the same drills as above with sets of vertical jumps, burpees, push ups and squats in between - their strength is incredible as I remember when they started in the spring - so very proud of them! Had another "me" hour with a facial - Facial impressions by Dina - she just opened her new place.....I have cards in the front lobby - the BEST you'll ever get - I promise you.......flew home to get the kids off the bus - well check for the oldest - soccer - homework, dinner.......aaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh it's almost Friday!!!!

Make me do it.....

Bob and I kicked off the morning with the Vo2 max snatch test - HOLY BALLS! I, of course, scaled back a bit, but my word thas no joke. I felt good, but soon realized I had some major blisters - thas a first....I've ripped, been bloody, but never have had this - puff ball hands that I've already drained twice - Pavel would call me a sissy for sure......This drill was presented by Rif this past Saturday - his wife Tracey does on a regular basis.....it will kick your butt and we will be doing in class down the road - be ready!!!! I finally made it to the grocery store - you would have thought my boys have never seen food - it will be gone in two days and then starvation (as they call it) will begin - lol.....We worked on rooting tonight with a deadlift/swing combo.....very cool to see some swings like Chad's, Stacey, Sarah, Shelly, Meredith and Tod's just explode.....We also worked on some partner tension drills - some realized quickly where they really are weak, driving open the hips with squats, cleans and side lying partner presses to make sure the lats are firing....I just realized I need to be careful as you all unlock the "secrets" I'm going to be buying many more larger bells.....I challenge you all to make this happen......

Contagious

Wow! 13 in class this morning....resistant to change a little in the beginning (written all over many faces - like great here we go). We started with joint mobility and went over the basics of the swing - safety, hiking, proper breathing, towel swing.....and then off to the nasty partner over speed eccentrics drill - 20 sec on/off - 10 sets total with a light bell. Then everyone started to ease up (after the hesitation of going to a lighter bell)....We need to mix it up guys - gotta train different every time or the body becomes stagnant - light, heavy, slow, fast - think outside of the box - trick the body.....so impressed with everyone's improved power. We then headed to the Turkish Get Up with the shoe - broke down all 17 steps - no sliding through or slacking....we're gonna do it right or not at all.....Gary got all the way up for the first time - super. Many of the regulars struggled (as did I) to adapt to the new format - it's a lot harder - not room for cheating.....20 burpees, 20 swings, 10 push ups, relaxation and stretching.....that was a FAST HOUR and a full body workout with just 2 exercises - amazing! Thank you to all of you for your patience and for listening to me....I am passionate (now more than ever) about what I do...hopefully it's contagious.

RKC Sept 2008

What an amazing experience and even more so to share it with close friends....Molly and Renee passed with flying colors - yipppppppeeeeeeeeee.......was there any doubt? Not at all. They worked hard - prepared well and ultimately earned the RKC title. It's not easy - not one second. Participants are not given the title - they earn it and that they did.....We started each day by 9am and ended on Friday around 6:30pm and Saturday around 7:30pm.....Sunday is testing and the grad workout - a fun and exciting time for those who meet the requirements to pass. Congratulations Molly and Renee - Nobody earned it, but you - so very proud of you and so very glad to be able to share the experience with you. I learned so much - just as much if not more than I did a year ago. It's an honor to be asked to assist and I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to share in the certification. Jay Armstrong (Houston, Team Armstrong) was our team leader - 13 participants - I assisted with Steve Meidinger (Colorado) and Terrence Thomas (Florida). Jay taught us so much - great pointers - shared a lot of information from his martial arts background - extremely helpful. We all worked very well together - shared ideas....my head is bigger than my whole body right now (ok maybe not, but it feels like it). I also had the opportunity to meet 13 people from all over the United States and Canada. I was so proud of their hard work and determination....they never gave up even when they really wanted too......even when they were all told to run 200 yards and back in the rain in bare feet (punishment for not listening). They did more burpees and swings than one could even fathom. Every test of strength and endurance was displayed on multiple levels. Everyone at the cert should be so proud of their hard work. Darlene assisted on Neupert's team and Doug was a Team Leader who at the very end was promoted to SENIOR INSTRUCTOR - a huge honor - even more excitement for all of us because if it wasn't for him none of us would be where we are today or may be among the few who have never heard of kettleball - lol (every newbie says it - I sadly enough did too).....Doug presented several times, led workouts - even the grad workout in his kilt. An amazing site. I will post pictures as soon as I can figure out how (new camera - ha). All in all, it was the boost I needed to continue forward with the learning process......Look out cuz form is everything.....All of you who participate in class make me proud, but know we can always be better. We're changing a few things going forward focusing more on joint mobility, technique, breathing, safety (there will be punishment if this is not followed), the swing is the universe of kettlebell and will be yours too - I promise you! Relaxing techniques will also be done.......We did a lot of swings tonight and worked on the TGU - 17 total steps - balancing a shoe.....presented by Doug......I would be absolutely remiss if I didn't thank Bob - he managed the house, kids, gym and dogs.........and did a great job! He was glad to see me last night, but he did it - and did it well.....Thank you.......

Where r u all?

Packing - writing out Bob's itinerary (that takes a day in itself to coordinate babysitters, soccer schedules, rides, work coverage - holy cow)....It seems like it might be easier to stay home, but a weekend away will be good for all! I will miss them dearly, but no doubt the boys will be playin while mama's away.....the house will most likely be trashed until I'm driving home from the airport...lol.....Very light classes tonight - WOW! You're all killing me - where did you go? Is there a party and I'm not invited? We did a series of 5 swing sets (developed from our very own Doug) with dead lifts in between. Very cool. We worked outside so made our usual trips around the building - trains, traffic, honks......super great.....Good Morning, Renegades, walking lunges, halos, push ups, wood chops - very nice....My last 2 training hours canceled so back home to prepare! I can't seem to get the technology figured out to blog on the road so you may have to wait for updates until next week.....Be good.....Come to class!!!!!

NIce Day

Another good day! Kids back to school - phew.....The sun came out (and is supposed to stay out....only if I don't wash my car - LOL). We had 11 in class - no newbies...a few regulars missing - going to put out a report (Mr. Mike you did report in so you're off the hook this time...). We completed the nasty 5 min w.o. with a min between exercises- taking breaks, hydrating, shaking out, listening to body of course.....swings, cleans, TGU, MP seated and standing, squats, push-ups and straight arm pull overs, snatches or high pulls....threw in some windmills and good morning for good measure....Fantastic form - work effort impressive by all! Nice job.....3 for the boomer class - poor Andrea tweaked something in the upper back - rolled on the roller....Sandy announced at the end it was her BDAY - the big _ _!!!! Yea.....Tuesday afternoon is my play day...did errands, returns, etc....headed home for a quick zzzzzzzzzzzzzz (the baby sucking the energy out).....kids off bus - homework - dinner - pick up M.....subbed for Ms. Molly tonight as she's gotten bit by the unfortunate cold bug (not good timing as we leave in 2 days for RKC). Dar already cooked up the chicken noodle soup - God Bless her......4 in class for cross-fit, TRX, Circuit style class and Karen's group at 7:30pm....hot as blazes in gym - time for Dar to bring in her tool belt and change the filter so we definitely spent time outside....I totally forgot tonight was the first episode for Biggest Loser - caught the end gosh darn......over and out......

Be prepared to work

Kicked off the EARLY morning with a call from Medina City Schools - no school....yikes...the kids thrilled - thank goodness it's Monday and not a work day! All is well. It was a revolving door with the neighbor kids (very fun - they're thrilled and have more friends than at the old house - just a huge relief).....Max and I cleaned, did paperwork, played and Bob attempted to work from the home office.....Headed into work - It's a 5min theme...Bob gave me some serious looks and decided that moving boxes (the last couple of weeks) as opposed to training does not count as working out.....I honestly didn't realize until Bob taught the next class (I a participant) how Brutal repetitions of the same exercise can truly be....I do have a lil excuse (besides moving and bad cold), but seriously be prepared to sweat! The fur ladies were great as usual. One of them originally from St. Paul so we talked restaurants and food for the hour - great hot spots, etc - can you tell where my priorities lye???? RKC in less than 4 days.....

Nope I didn't forget

Thursday's always seem to be the craziest day of the week and this one proved just that! I was actually to work 10min early - yeaaaa - told you I would get better! We had an unbelievable turn out - 4 brand new - Stacey, Sandy, Anna and Natalie.....Chris and Lisa have continued to come back for more! We worked outside - beautiful morning....thank you so much to the regulars, especially Monica for your help and encouragement with the newbies - greatly appreciated. Mike, Gary, Janet, Karyn, Sue, Becca, Traci, Toni, Darlene....kicked it in fully gear....Janet worked with the 12kg - great accomplishment! Rose showed up for Baby Boomer (the only one - where are you all??? Patti had eye surgery so she's off the hook - the rest of you are on my list - remember I'm prego....). She was gracious enough to jump into Molly's group so I could get a few things done before the 1pm group. Haley, Trish, Angela, Nancy and Aimee showed up ready to work...We drug the sled, jumped cones, threw the medicine ball, hit the tornado ball and flipped the tire in the parking lot - it was dirty and hot, but what counts is the work - and that they all did.....Flew to my Doc appt - all is good....got kids off the bus, homework....stopped at Jimmy John's for subs prior to soccer - lol as I walked in and the girl said you own BBOM! I looked out my apartment window this am and heard you yelling "lock it out and of course I remember you cuz your prego".....small world....we got back from practice around 9pm - baths, reading, bed.....exhaustion.....hence I covered my butt this am!

Why are you up?

Woke up tired today - 2 days in a row without a lil afternoon siesta and I'm toast! Got the older one's on the bus and spent the rest of the day with Max - we played, worked, flitted....time flew...never sure why that is....Sam got invited to a birthday party after school and Alex had a soccer game in Strongsville - kids everywhere - who is on first.....all worked out well and everyone arrived back home in one piece - a beautiful thing! Classes were great - lil light - hump day usually is, but all worked really hard....so nice to have Shelli, Angie, Pat, Chris and Sally back - yea! Krista tried her hand at KB and is a natural....Chad back for more punishment...a beautiful night so we worked outside: single arm swings alternating between three bells, lots of walking, clean/MP/Squat ladder - nice job by all....Miss Kelli returned after 2 months - so nice to see her at 7:30pm...lovely to arrive home at 9pm and see ALL of your children still up and bouncing around....hello - school - bed time....too wound up to fall asleep - we'll do it all over again tomorrow!

Ran a few errands and then Bob and I headed to Akron General for our 20 week (half way there) ultrasound.....nervous, but excited....Everything turned out great - fingers, toes, organs....looking good and actually measuring only 1 week ahead for now (it's still early - remember Dudley's don't come out SMALL)....very relieving as well as exciting.....Did we find out?????? Re-read the title :)

Alright you people - STOP

Alright I'm back - for good this time. It's been almost 2 months (practically forgot my password - sad). A LOT has happened since I last posted in July.....We moved - I'm bigger - kids started a new school - I'm bigger - Went to Ocean Isle Beach with my family - I'm bigger - Went to Northern Michigan with Bob's family - I'm bigger - Had a birthday - now I'm older and bigger - Max turned 2 - bigger - my brother suffered a heart attack at the age of 35 (in rehab now - expected to make a full recovery - thanks for all of the kind words and prayers) - now I'm a lot bigger - grandpa just had a pace maker put in - bigger - mom has to have a hip replacement - bigger - our partner, Heather, announced she's moving - waaayyyy bigger - my Aunt is in her third round of chemo for breast cancer (doing well - keep her in your prayers)....sooooooooo that's where I've been - eating bon bons and getting bigger - just kidding! Really we've been moving from one situation to the next - the time is absolutely flying - why I feel like I've blinked my eyes and all of the sudden I'm 5 months pregnant, in a different house and summer is over!!!! I know many of you can relate...the good news is we're settling in very nicely - things are calming down so we can take a breath (why I'm committed to the blog once again)....The kids are both adjusting the new school and doing very well (so that's a huge relief). The family is attempting to stay healthy....Classes and training are starting to pick up again (kids back in school)....so nice to see many of you again.....I'm really excited to assist at RKC (leave next Thursday) - they letting my big butt in (Ok so I paid and begged them - just kidden)....but I'm thrilled to brush up on skills (told class to look out) as well as catch up with Doug and some others from my training last year....Molly and Renee will be heading out to get certified - yea - they are strong and ready....and Darlene will be assisting too........sooooooo that means BOB is in charge next weekend - Look out.......We had 8 in the first class - Dawn and Faye came back - I didn't scare them away (yet).............All did Great! Renee was our newbie in class two - lil light headed and shaky, but powered through with the old gatoride/mint trick...hope she'll be back, but looked quite miserable - the verdict out on that one, but she did great....Chad killed it as usual (promised no snatches as he's still trying to recover from the nasty class a month ago)....he had his 3 troops with him - all look just like him - too damn cute.....Fur ladies at 7:30pm - on time as usual and ready to roll - have canceled maybe once in a year - dedicated. Big girl over and out - it's late - baby needs rest......Thank you Dar again for the delicious chicken noodle soup and banana bread - you da bomb....See you all tomorrow!
